Trinity Music Exams UPDATE in light of COVID-19

4 April, 2020
Follow instructions here if you applied for any May/June 2020 Trinity music exam.

Dear Teachers, Students and Parents,

First of all, I do hope you are all doing well and staying safe.

This is to explain the latest updates due to the current Corona virus pandemic. You should follow the instructions here as these relate to the Malta and Gozo Trinity Music Centre.

All May/June 2020 exams have been postponed. This means no Theory, Practical or Rock&Pop exams will be taking place in Malta and Gozo for the time being. The plan is to resume exams normally when the situation has calmed down, examiners can safely travel to our islands, and everyone can return to work as usual. My idea is to have these exams scheduled for the end of this year - of course, if circumstances permit.

Do not worry, here are the options you have if you had previously applied for any May/June 2020 exam:

1) I can keep your May/June applications and payment on hold for when exams resume. This means that when I have confirmation that exam sessions can go ahead safely and be scheduled, I will contact everyone involved and we can then collect student unavailability for these new exam dates (possibly Oct-Nov-Dec 2020).

2) In case you need to change grades or add further students to your existing application, you can send another application form explaining the changes and update payment as necessary. This step can be done later on during summer (July onward) so we might have a clearer picture of what is happening by the end of this year. I will not be accepting any modifications or new applications now, at such an early stage.

3) In case you need to remove one or more candidates from your application, send me an email and I will cancel and refund accordingly. No need to send a new application in this case.

4) In case you want to cancel your application entirely, send me an email (trinitymusicmalta@gmail.com) and I will issue a full refund for you.

With regards to theory exams, hopefully the session takes place in November, however this cannot be confirmed as yet. Note that when theory exams resume, it is possible for candidates to apply for two theory grades in the same sitting - doing Grade 1 and 2 exam papers one after the other, for instance. Two lower grade exams are usually very manageable.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions. I will be doing my best to keep you all updated and to help out in any queries. It is hard to predict what will happen, but Trinity is striving to ensure the best outcomes possible throughout this challenging time.

May I ask teachers to kindly forward this information to all parents/students who applied for May/June 2020 exams.

As always, I thank you for choosing Trinity and for your support.

Best wishes and take care,
